Reviews containing harassment or personal information
There is a clear line between a harsh review and an abusive one, and this category is where that line matters most.
Harassment and personal information are the two policy grounds with the least room for argument, because the breach is visible in the text itself rather than in the underlying dispute.
They are also the categories where the consequences are not commercial. Staff being named, threatened or identified deserve an answer that does not depend on whether the customer was ever right.

Where the line sits
A review can be angry, personal in tone and unflattering without crossing it. These do cross it.
- Slurs, degrading language and content directed at a person rather than a service
- Threats of violence or harm, including implied ones
- Repeated posting by the same account after a refusal to engage
- Content naming and targeting an employee, a family member or a customer
What counts as personal information
This category is broader than most businesses expect, and it is often the cleanest case available.
- Phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses and vehicle registrations
- Names of staff or private individuals, particularly alongside an allegation
- Details that identify a customer, a patient, a tenant or a child
- Screenshots of private messages, invoices or records published in a review
Reporting these cases
These reports are short. Quote the offending wording, name the category and stop: the argument is in the review, not in the history behind it.
- Attach the review's own wording rather than a summary of events
- Where a threat is specific and credible, involve the police as well as Google
- Protect your team: tell named staff what has been reported and what is being done

Questions we get asked
Not on its own. Harassment involves content aimed at a person, repeated targeting, or degrading and abusive language. Blunt criticism of your service usually stays.
Usually, and quickly. Personal contact details fall squarely within this category, and the report does not depend on any dispute about the service.
Report it to Google on the harassment ground, keep the evidence, and treat the threat as a matter for the police rather than a platform issue alone.
