How to report a Google review
The report itself is a short, structured form. The work is in choosing the right category and proving the point.
Reporting a review is done from the Business Profile, and it takes a couple of minutes. What decides the outcome is not the length of the report, but whether the reviewer can match what you send to a rule they enforce.
This page is the process. If you want help with the argument itself, send us the review and we will tell you which category fits and what evidence would carry it.
Send us the review and get an honest answer.
From £99 a removal, priced per review. No charge for the eligibility check.
- Honest check before you pay
- Most cases decided in 24 to 72 hours
- Full refund if Google keeps it up
The steps
Google's own process is straightforward, and each review is reported separately.
- Open your Business Profile, find the review and use the flag or report option on it
- Choose the category that matches the content, not the one that sounds most serious
- Add a short explanation that quotes the offending wording and states the fact Google can check
- Report each review individually: a batch message about five reviews is assessed one by one anyway
How to choose the category
The category is the whole argument in miniature. A reviewer who receives a report filed under the wrong heading is being asked the wrong question, and the answer is usually no.
- Content that is not about your business at all is off-topic
- Content from someone with no customer relationship points to fake engagement
- Content naming or attacking a person points to harassment or personal information
- Content from a rival, an ex-employee or an insider points to conflict of interest
What happens next
Google reviews the content and either removes it or leaves it in place. You are not told who assessed it, and the reviewer is not told who reported it.
- Most decisions arrive within a few days, and straightforward spam cases can move in hours
- A refusal means the report as filed did not demonstrate a breach, not that the review is fair
- A refused case can be re-reported, but only with a different argument or new evidence

Questions we get asked
Only the profile owner or a manager can report through the Business Profile. If the profile is not yours, we will explain what has to be arranged first.
It helps where the case turns on a fact, such as whether a transaction happened. Where the review itself shows the breach, for example duplicate text or a named individual, the wording is the evidence.
A single well-founded report will not. A pattern of unfounded reports can be treated as abuse, which is why we only file reviews we believe genuinely breach policy.
