Review problems

Removing spam Google reviews

Spam is the easiest category to spot and one of the easiest to report accurately.

Google's spam policy covers reviews that exist to promote something, to game a rating or to fill a profile without describing a real experience.

Because the pattern is visible in the text itself, these cases often need less customer evidence than a fake review dispute.

From £99 a removal, priced per review. No charge for the eligibility check.

The forms spam takes

Each looks different, and each should be named for what it is in the report.

  • The same paragraph or sentence pasted across several businesses
  • A review that advertises another company, a phone number, a link or a discount code
  • Off-topic content: politics, a rival's address, or a complaint about a different venue
  • Review bombing: many negatives arriving together, often from accounts with no posting history

What to send

Duplication and promotion are self-evident, so the screenshots do most of the work.

  • Screenshots of the identical text on another profile, with the URL visible
  • The reviewer's public profile page, showing the same review repeated
  • A short note on when the reviews arrived, if it was all within a day or two

Off-topic content is often overlooked

Businesses tend to ignore an off-topic review because it is not an attack, but it still counts against your rating while it sits on your profile.

  • A review about a different branch, business or person
  • Opinions about an owner's public statements rather than a visit
  • Reviews that describe a service you do not provide

Questions we get asked

Duplicates are one of the clearest policy breaches, and they are usually removed. Send both copies, since the reviewer needs to see the same text on more than one profile.

Not always, but promotion and unsolicited advertising do. The question is whether the review exists to describe an experience or to move traffic.

Not necessarily. Check whether they came from established or brand-new accounts, and whether any of them match real bookings. That distinction changes the argument we file.
