Review problems

Can a negative Google review be removed?

Yes, if it breaks a rule. No, if it is simply an unhappy customer telling their truth.

This is the question every business asks first, and it has a two-part answer. Google removes reviews that breach its content policies, and it keeps reviews that do not.

The useful version of the answer is a checklist against the review you are actually looking at.

From £99 a removal, priced per review. No charge for the eligibility check.

  • Honest check before you pay

  • Full refund if Google keeps it up

Usually removable

These types of review breach a named policy, and a well-argued report has a real chance.

  • A review from someone who was never a customer, or who cannot be traced in your records
  • A review by a competitor, an ex-employee or anyone with a stake in your rating
  • Harassment, slurs, threats, or content naming a member of staff
  • Duplicate, promotional or off-topic content with nothing to do with your business

Usually not removable

Google's policies protect the customer's account of an experience.

  • A real customer describing a real visit, however harshly
  • A dispute about price, quality or a refund conducted in ordinary customer language
  • A one-star rating with no text, or a short complaint that names no rule
  • A review you believe is exaggerated but which describes something that did happen

What to do either way

If it is removable, file a report that names the policy. If it is not, respond once and factually, and do not spend money on attempts that cannot succeed.

  • We assess before you pay, and we decline cases we do not think qualify
  • For genuine criticism, a steady flow of real reviews limits the long-term damage
  • If your records later contradict a factual claim, a refusal can be re-argued

Questions we get asked

No, and be careful with anyone who tells you otherwise. Removal depends on a policy breach, not on the fee.

It can still qualify where the lies are specific and disprovable, particularly allegations of crime or fraud, or claims about work that was never carried out. Send us the specifics.

No. Once Google removes a review it is gone. A new review from the same account is a new post, and repeat behaviour is itself useful evidence.
